the Only Son of God
fear not God can be trusted
Thank you for your prayers. I believe in Jesus Christ, The Only Son of God. A few weeks ago I said that God identifies Himself as Father. So it follows, that if there is a father, then there must be a son. One of the great joys of my life is when someone finds out what I do, and then they lecture me on theology in the line at the grocery store. And many times people have told me that "Jesus is the Son of God just like we are all God's children." (Or the Jewish version of this, "I'm Jewish so God is my Father and I don't need Jesus.”) Don’t argue with people in the grocery store. No. Jesus is the firstborn, only begotten (not made) Son of the Father. He shares the DNA and the inheritance of the God who made all things. He is no different in essence than the Creator of all things. And this idea— Jesus is the firstborn Son— is very important. Until very recently in human history, being the firstborn son meant something important. You were a legal heir and had total rights to the fortune of you Father. And if your Father is God, well, that's a lot. And then there is more. When we believe in Jesus, He willingly invites us to share that complete and total inheritance with us. We become co-heirs. Everything Jesus has, He willingly shares with us. And this is why we can pray for sick people and they get well. We can resist the devil, and he must flee. And why, when we look at Jesus his life, his teaching, and his example, we can see the Father. He is the Image of the Invisible God. The perfect portrait of His Father. I believe in Jesus the Only Son of God. He Never Fails, +christ
