I believe in Jesus

Thank you for your prayers.

We continue this series by moving on to the second section
of the Apostles Creed:
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord.

The first statement of belief for the early Christians was three words:
Jesus is Lord.

This was a subversive statement,
because Rome said "Caesar was lord."

We believe in Jesus.
The name Jesus is the Greek translation of
"Y'shua"
Joshua.
And that means "Salvation."
His name is Salvation.
And truly, anyone who calls on this name will be saved.
And this word salvation is much deeper and richer than you may understand.
Salvation is:
Redemption.
Wholeness.
Completion.
Healing.
Blessing.
Life.
Protection.
Restoration.
Transformation.
Becoming.

It is not a one time thing.
It is something that will continue into eternity.

And that second part of his name is equally important.
Christ.
This is the Greek translation of the Hebrew word "meschiach."
Messiah.
Anointed.
In Hebrew the root for this word is to "shine."
You are shiny when you are covered in oil.
And in Greek it means to smear.
That’s a lot of oil,
like when you go to the Roman baths
and they cover you with oil from head to toe.

This Jesus is the one who was smeared and shines
with the oil of the Holy Spirit.
It is the Holy Spirit that made him different.
And then He invited us to experience the difference too.

So Jesus is the Anointed one.
A light to shine to the nations,
and the glory of his people Israel.

And he invites us to join him on the mission
to be lights to the nations as well.

I believe in the Salvation, the Anointed One.
Jesus Christ.

He Never Fails,
