He Rose Again from the Dead

The continuing series from Very God: An Artists Looks at the Nicene Creed.

This phrase is the foundation 
of the New Covenant and the Kingdom.
The New Covenant 
would have been a nice religious idea 
if Jesus had not risen,
this would have been another movement 
by another upstart rabbi,
and Jesus would have been a footnote in Jewish history,
and probably have been forgotten.
This rabbi was martyred like so many others.
